Trampolining

Trampolining

The first civilizations attempted to defy gravity by sending a person into the air using outstretched animal skins to throw them up and catch them safely.

It is now really popular and last term over 1,508 young people took part in trampolining via the 5x60 scheme. It requires great courage and daring but it can also help to build confidence for those who are faint hearted at the thought of heights. Top athletes can perform somersaults, twists and turns up to 10 meters in the air so it will not only improve your overall levels of fitness and strength but it will also push your agility to the limit.

Things can get even more complicated when it comes to synchronized trampolining. Here two people have to perform exactly the same routine at exactly the same time on two trampolines opposite each other!

If you like the sound of trampolining and want to give it a go then get in touch with your schools 5x60 Officer. And if you fancy finding out about a bit more about trampolining in Wales then check out welshgymnastics.org.
